Testimonials > Success. > Kevin on BootCamp

All my life I have fought being overweight including when I swam and played lacrosse in high school. As the years went on and I became less physically active, the pounds just started to add up. I have tried many diets with and without exercise.

My weight really started spinning out of control when I accepted a job here in Atlanta, and my wife and I decided that she would stay in Richmond, VA. Without someone to share meals with I would skip breakfast, eat lunch out with people from the office and grab something late at night from a drive through. In March 2007 my wife and I were blessed with a baby girl. The responsibility of shaping the personality and habits of our daughter got me to evaluate my health. I started thinking how am I ever going to be a good role model if I can't even control my own health?

I put together a weight loss contest at my office to add motivation. I started researching ways to workout other than just going to the gym. I have tried that with little success. I found BTB Boot Camp. After looking at many of the local boot camps I was drawn to BTB. Within a few hours of finding it, I was talking to Melissa and committing to a month of I didn't know what.

In April, I arrived scared not knowing what I was in for. The first item of business was being weighed and having my stomach girth measured, 308 lbs and 52". The next thing we did was run down to the park and perform our physical fitness test. I never realized how out of shape I was. It was tough morning but I was committed. By the end of the second week I could barely walk and was diagnosed with severe Plantar Fasciitis. The Doctor informed me to stay off of my feet for a few months. I was determined to get healthy so I stretched it, iced it and did everything possible to alleviate the pain. I started back at boot camp the first day of May and was addicted. I lost 65 pounds and 8 inches off my waist!

Now this is something that I can be proud to share with my daughter, and I am creating habits that I will be able to pass on to her. Not to mention it will help me to be around a long time to see her grow up. Who would have thought that all those time we have been told to eat right and exercise that it actually works?
