I used to work out at LA Fitness maybe 3 times a week, but was bored with just working out on the machines. I saw an ad for Bootcamp in the Creative Loafing and decided to give it a try. So I signed up for Bootcamp in Piedmont Park for the 6am class! I loved it and signed up for another month. I really have never been a big runner, but after a month, I loved running and a friend from bootcamp convinced me to run the Peachtree Road race with her. I had never run a 10k in my life.... I finished in under an hour! 

In October bootcamp I learned about CrossFit. The first day I went to CrossFit, we did some crazy workout that included 50 walking lunges with weights, I could hardly walk for about 2 days! But I was hooked and signed up the very next week. After about 6 months of CrossFit, about 5 times a week, my body transformed. I really don't know how much weight I have lost, I don't weigh myself. But all my jeans/pants are too big for me, which is a great sign. 

I ran my first half marathon in March 2008 and finished in 2 hours (never thought I could run a 1/2 marathon), I got my first pull up in April 2008, who would have thought I could pull up my own bodyweight? I took 4 minutes off my sprint triathlon from last year’s time and can lift more weight than some of the boys in the gym. I am in the best shape of my life (I actually have abs and a flat stomach), I am stronger than ever and have a lot more self confidence. 

I contribute this great success to Jeff and Melissa, CrossFit and to the trainers who push me everyday to go out of the comfort zone to be stronger. Also, having the other members cheer you is great motivation too! Another great thing about CrossFit is that I have formed so many great friendships!
