This page is where you will find the growing collection of our favorite recipes.  All of these recipes have been either collected from or sent in to us from a variety of performance minded sources.  All of these recipes fit into our nutritional philosophy at BTB.  Some may be a bit more of a "treat" than others, but all use only whole food sources.  If you are adhering to a strict paleolithic style diet, be sure to read all ingredients to make sure the recipe fits into your plan. Most of them should.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 (28-ounce) cans Roma plum tomatoes, broken into pieces, with juice

-                     Or for the semi-homemade folks 1 bottle of McCutcheon’s Marinara Sauce (Whole Foods!!).  Really good and perfect paleo!

  • 1 cup tightly packed, pitted, and halved black olives
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (I skip this step, as many have sugar in them)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 handfuls of baby spinach
  • Red, green, yellow peppers
  • Throw in any veggies you like
  • Add beef, chicken, sausage, pork.  Whatever you fancy!

Directions:

Sautee the garlic, onions, peppers, other veggies, Italian herbs and red pepper flakes until onions soft.  Add meat and sauté until almost fully cooked.  Pour in tomatoes or McCutcheons sauce, let cook until it is hot.  Add olives and spinach.  Let spinach cook down into sauce.

**I put lots of veggies in there to make it a very substantial meal, so you don’t need pasta!  Makes great leftovers, too.
