This page is where you will find the growing collection of our favorite recipes.  All of these recipes have been either collected from or sent in to us from a variety of performance minded sources.  All of these recipes fit into our nutritional philosophy at BTB.  Some may be a bit more of a "treat" than others, but all use only whole food sources.  If you are adhering to a strict paleolithic style diet, be sure to read all ingredients to make sure the recipe fits into your plan. Most of them should.

This is a Spanish/Filipino appetizer - I used it as a main dish

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1-2 fresh hot green chilis (I used 1 tbsp canned green chilis, still
  • good)
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional for paleo)
  • Black ground pepper to taste

Directions:

Peel and devein the shrimp.  Rinse, pat dry, and put them in a bowl. Add the paprika and toss to mix.  Peel the garlic and chop finely.  Chop the chilis finely.  Put the oil in a wok or large frying pan and set it over high heat.  When the oil is hot, add the garlic and stir fry for 30 seconds, or until it turns golden.  Add the shrimp and green chilis. Stir fry over high heat for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn opaque all the way through.  Add the salt (optional) and pepper.  Toss and serve.

Note:  This sounds like a lot of garlic, but it does not taste that garliky as you cook the garlic down a lot.  This recipe also makes great leftovers, room temp or chilled.
