Every kid starts out wanting to run faster, be stronger and jump higher. BTB CrossFit Kids helps make that dream come true. CrossFit Kids is an adaptation of CrossFit tailored to children from age 6 - 16. Like its CrossFit parent, CrossFit Kids is a program consisting of powerful, short burst, high intensity workouts that will leave kids of any fitness level feeling accomplished. The workouts are broad, general and inclusive by design. By adjusting weight and intensity, BTB CrossFit Kids can be scaled to meet the fitness needs of everyone whether training for a sport or just wanting to instill the habits of a healthy lifestyle.

BTB CrossFit Kids instills confidence through physical fitness. Kids who feel good about themselves excel in their studies and sports and tend to make good decisions in their life. The variety of workouts BTB CrossFit Kids employs makes sure every kid is successful.

BTB CrossFit Kids is no ordinary gym.We are not a fitness center. You won't see rows of ellipticals or a wall of flat screen TVs. We're a little more old school than that, using medicine balls, gymnastic rings, barbells, kettlebells, and climbing ropes. Yes, the dreaded climbing ropes from when you were in gym class. But this time, we'll make sure you (we mean your kid) will conquer it.

What you will not find in at BTB CrossFit Kids is a separate machine for each individual muscle and the acres of floor space required to house such equipment. Each exercise routine selected for BTB CrossFit Kids includes multi-joint, compound movements - thereby eliminating all the complicated machinery and time associated with learning each piece of equipment. This leaves more time to focus on exercising in a safe, efficient and extremely effective manner.

What do we do at CrossFit Kids?

We PLAY! We squat, jump, run, skip, pull, push, drag, duplicating everyday activities your kids already do such as: helping unload groceries, picking up the family pet or younger sibling and tossing backpacks on the counter. Here is the real value with CrossFit Kids: your kids will now help unload groceries from the car without complaining! Well, we can't guarantee that, but we can guarantee they will be able to complete the task faster, so the complaining will be shorter!
What is a typical class like?

CrossFit Kids begins with a quick warm-up followed by an explanation of the day's workout or game. All activities are demonstrated by an instructor and then practiced by the group before the work out begins. A typical workout might include: box jumps, jump rope skips, ball toss, bear crawl, Monkey pull-ups. After the workout, the group is cooled down and stretched out. During this time we discuss the importance of making good food choices (for example: A Coke is a treat, or something you drink at every meal?...discuss), proper technique and form during exercise, and promoting group camaraderie & support.
How physically active should my child really be?

Experts suggest 60 minutes of physical activity each day, or most days. For more information, review "My Activity Pyramid" from the University of Missouri Extension.

Of all our programs, our CrossFit Kids program exemplifies what BTB means more than any other: Build. Train. Become. This program is extremely important to us. We have all heard the child obesity statistics and the news that this generation will not live as long as their parents. It is our mission to help your kids BECOME all they can be!
