Why Care about Pace?

Let Bugs Bunny give you a little lesson in pacing - you've heard of the tortiose and the hare, right? Well no one wants to give out half way through a run. Check out these options for determining your proper pace:
Complete the below intervals - throw out your fastest and slowest and average the other times. This will provide a close estimate to that’s distance’s pace, try not to vary by more than 20 seconds.
5k: 8 x 800 w/ 1:00 rest between
10k: 10 x 1K (2-1/2 laps) w/ 1:00-1:30 rest between
Half marathon: 7-8 x 2k w/ 1:30-2:00 rest between
Marathon: 5 x 2 mile repeats w/ 1:30-2:00 rest between
BTB Endurance: Week of April 1
Monday 6AM @ Ponce: 8 x 20:10
Tuesday 6:30 PM @ Ponce: 2 x 2 mile TT with 7 minutes rest between efforts
Wednesday 6AM @ Ponce; 6:30 PM @ Buck: 3 x (100m + 200m + 400m)
Tempo Run: 10M @ 90% of 10M TT pace
