Goals for the Month

Running w/ MedballsGot Goals?

We're starting this month off great. And it's going to continue to get better. One way to maximize this month of fitness and health that you've paid for is to have at least one deliberate goal for the month. Not just an etheral idea of "I want to be fitter or stronger or healthier," but something more specific. Something realistic and actionable. Something you can measure and help you stay accountable. Instead of "I want to be stronger," have your goal be "I want to make every pushup I do this month to be the full range of motion!" So that means every pushup you do your chest should be hitting the ground. And guess what? The result is that you'll be stronger at the end of the month. But you've now given yourself something specific that you can stay accountable to. It's easy and realistic to achieve. Sure, in the beginning you might be slower and it might take you longer and you can't do as many pushups, but since you're commited to doing it right every single time, you'll get faster, you'll get stronger! If you don't have any specific goals, think about some. Here's a few other ideas for you to consider if you'd like some help:

  • Show up to OTB every day this month.
  • No alcohol for the month. If you're unwilling to commit to that, then how about something like 2 drink max on Friday's only? It's actually easier than it seems.
  • Eat no processed Foods.
  • Try Paleo for 30 days.
  • No soft drinks /sugary drinks for the month.
  • Chest to ground pushups every time this month.
  • Full depth squats everytime this month.

One more big point to help your goals become reality: Tell somebody! Nothing helps make your goals become real by verbalizing what you want to do. Write it down on a sticky note and put it on your computer monitor. Tell all your friends, post it as your facebook status. Make it real. Everybody here at OTB wants you to succeed. We're here to help you real your goals and even exceed them. But we can't help if we don't know what your goals are. Write them in the comments. Share them with us. Let's rock this month together!
